My latest class has me designing an online course.  I can say in the beginning I was very hesitant due to teaching first graders.  I was not really sure how that would look, and if it would be successful.  After beginning to work on the course, I realized that this could be manageable and maybe even a lifesaver some days.  I decided to use materials and tools that my students were comfortable with and tools that we use on a daily basis due to them completing a lot of the work independently.  I don’t want to waste any of my small group instruction time, helping students log in and so forth.

This course focuses on students learning how to count money and change.  I added a piece as well for them to have the opportunity to use it in the real world, and hopefully, they will see they can give back to the community and make a difference.
